A game in the clouds

Spent two tranquil days in Lonavla: a little hillstation about a 110 kms from amchi Mumbai. Visited the Tungarli Dam; which is definitely well worth the climb to the top. A heavy mist had settled on the lake rising sporadically to give a glimpse of the vast lake and the hills that lay beyond. All in all quite the cloud number nine experience. Savio started to bounce stones off the surface of the lake and before we knew it, it became a full fledged competition: who could bounce the stone the most number of times, who could bounce the stone the highest, who could spin it while it bounced. I am proud to say that not only did my stones trace a beautiful trajectory as they fell straight into the water without a single bounce but also that they made the most audible and melodious of “PlocK” sounds ever. But my stone throwers brigade weren’t going to give up on me easy. Like true comrades, they taught, they cheered, they urged me on…and not before long the moment was upon me: it was now or never: life was moving in slow motion: 8 pairs of eyes were upon me: I closed my eyes and let go of the stone. I know that you are expecting a huge “Plock”, cause I did, but you wouldn’t believe it, but in true Hollywood style my stone bounced gleefully a full 5 times off the water. I get lucky sometimes :-)
